Birthday in Germany

Sydney celebrated her 7th birthday in Germany this year. Of course she had breakfast in bed, along with Opa who kept her company.

And, she got to have a special song played just for her on the radio. She had to finish breakfast in the living room so she and Oma could listen out for Sydney's name to be read out and her song played.

Birthdays

Autumn is birthday time at our house. Elena's (the 23rd of Sept) is often the first day of fall, Fiona's is in the middle (1st of Nov) and Sydney's is either the last day of fall (23rd of Dec.)or first one of winter. We've celebrated 2 of them so far this year. Elena turned 12 and Fiona celebrated her first double digit b-day! As seems to be usual for us, we ended up celebrating more than once--for various reasons.

It is really hard to post more than 1 photo so I'll stop for today and post Fiona's later.

Life from Sydney's point of view

If you give a 6 year old a camera in a Chinese restaurant(especially when she's bored), she'll take photos of the things that tickle her fancy...

My Hair

Hey Everybody!
Its been a long time since I wrote anything. Well, the other day I got my hair braided Africa Style. It took two hours and it only hurt a little. I have some pics that Papa took. Our house-help has a friend that does hair, so she did it for me.

I really enjoyed my time in America.
My favorite part was going to public school. I really liked my teacher, Mrs.Cooper. I had a blast with my friends too! But we were really happy to see Papa again.

Another Sydney thing

A real quick story about Sydney. At first, she didn't like 'real' school and wanted to do homeschool some more. However, I think she's passed that hump. The other evening, she went to the High School concert. She wanted to go because her teacher was going to be there. Afterwards, when they were standing in line to get cookies, Sydney asked her teacher if she'd come for a sleepover! I think she really likes her teacher.
